minnehaha's (B. and K.). The occasion was the semi-regular arrival of the Fabian Seafood truck, which arrives every six weeks or so from Texas (last Thursday's was the last of the winter). lollardfish and buttonlass were there too, and 90_percent_sure joined a little later. We had shrimp (wrapped in prosciutto and basil and broiled), a salad with oysters fried in cornmeal, shrimp crepes and Crab Casanova (cooked in wine cognac). And wine (we toasted my white belt with it), and a cheese course for dessert. It is thanks to eating dinner at minnehaha's that I have discovered the decadent pleasure of eating cheese dripped with truffle honey.
I took particular delight in this dinner, not only because of the wonderful company, but because I know nobody else in my family would have touched any of this stuff. Their loss!
