Do you do this too? I keep a record of my progress in words every day. I enter all the data into Excel, and have a chart that shows progress against my goal.
Right now--and I mean RIGHT now--I'm at 76,842 words, having added 215 today.
There are days when the count goes down, if I delete a section. (In the beginning I hated those days. Now that I am editing, I like them.)
Me, too -- I have an Excel spreadsheet that tracks my word output... For me, it's a goad to keep me working steadily -- I HATE to see the line on the graph drop below me average...
But I'd rather have a hundred good words a thousand lousy ones...
But in the beginning, when making my quota mattered, I much preferred a thousand lousy words. Then I hit 60,000 words, and reversed myself. These days I prefer -1000 lousy words.
