Who was that guy that Bush called on at his press conference who pitched the President a big fat softball question? Jeff Gannon--er, or is he? You've been following the Jeff Gannon story, haven't you? If not, [livejournal.com profile] plaidder explains it all for you here.

Unbelieveable.

Why is it so despicable that he posed in his underpants (when women do this we applaud them for taking control of their sexuality), that he has some weird domain names registered, and that he asked the president a softball question? Implying that he runs a gay prostitution ring just because he has some domain names registered is not just reaching pretty far but also not admirable tactics. Is that the only thing they could come up with in order to ruin his professional reputation (such as it is)?

The post by [livejournal.com profile] plaidder implies that Talon News was created mere moments before the question was asked, but it's been around for over a year according to this December 29, 2003 entry at Little Green Footballs.

The In DC Journal has a good roundup of reaction to Atrios' and Kos's coverage.

Hmm, point taken.

I guess what struck me the most was someone gaining access to the White House with a false name/credentials. Guess I didn't make that clear.

I've been hearing reports on it on the radio (well, Air America and Ed Schultz) . . . it's utterly ridiculous.

I can't say anything non-partisan and unaffected by my radio habits so I won't, but it's insane.

Almost as insane as fifty-two separate warnings for 9/11 NOT BEING HEEDED AT ALL. "There were no warnings!" Right. Not fifty-two of them.

I'll stop here.
