Isn't it annoying?

I picked up the third Flash Girls CD at the DreamHaven table (actually Rob sprang for it for me; thanks, Rob). However . . .

I had put it in a perfectly reasonable place, the side pocket of the bag that carried the books that needed to be autographed. Rob, inexplicably, took it out again ("I don't want it in there because I'm going to be carrying these books around to get them autographed." I dunno, did the CD make the bag too heavy for you to carry?) And he stashed it somewhere, and he can't remember where and hasn't found it yet.

It is often annoying to be in love with someone who at times has a memory like a sieve. I really wanted to listen to it today.

Edited to add: He found it, in about the eighth place he thought to look. He'd stuffed it with his dirty socks into the laundry pouch.

I ask you.

The Flash Girls are fantasy writer Emma Bull and the Fabulous Lorraine, who did three albums together, with the help of friends. They play original and traditional music. Some of their songs are written by Neil Gaiman, Alan Moore, Jane Yolen, Adam Stemple, and Dorothy Parker. Since Emma has moved to Los Angeles, they don't perform together except when Emma comes back for occasional conventions. I find their music to be great fun. You can still get the second and third albums. Good luck on finding a used copy of the first. Fabulous Lorraine has gone on to work with a new group, Folk Underground, who played at Minicon (and I missed 'em!)

I just refound my copy of Play Each Morning Wild Queen which had been missing since I moved into my new place on 1 January. I missed it sorely! I can't quite figure out which CD is my favourite, though. I have a bunch o' favourites on each one.

Folk Underground is still sitting on my Amazon Wish List, waiting (and wishing).

My husband has degrees in Electrical Engineering, Physics, and Astrophysics. From MIT and Berkeley. He works as a consulting rocket scientist. He can remember anything to do with his work, and recite arcane trivia about anything (manmade) that flies, but where he put the magazine with the article he wanted to read? Surely you jest. Given his reluctance to part with paper and books, he's distinctly high maintenance, but he's such a sweetie.

..it's because CD jewel cases break so easily, that being in the side pocket of a book bag, any bump might make it break, and he didn't want something you wanted so to break or be spoiled in any way, so he put it somewhere it would be cushioned and soft. The laundry.

Makes sense to me, but then, I've been married to one, and all the signs point to me being the mother of three. *sigh*

The intentions are always great. The logic is open to interpretation.
