Columbia Pictures is in negotiations with potential cast members (Anthony Hopkins, Ray Winstone, Robin Wright Penn, Brendan Gleeson). Director: Robert Zemeckis. Screenplay by Roger Avary and Neil Gaiman. Goal: release in 2007. Could be interesting . . .

I have a friend who is contracted as a special effects artist on that. (He recently moved to LA with his wife, so he could do a three movie deal. I can't remember what the third movie is, but the other movie he's working on is Spider-Man 3.)

The second movie Beowulf movie, it seems. The first one (Beowulf and Grendel, I think?) wrapped up a few months ago. It has some interesting plot twists to it (read: it diverges from the poem, and I make this face: ;| )

Based on what Neil's said about this movie, I'm fairly excited to see how it turns out. They seem to be quite intimately involved in the story, and the dragon episode is still there. Yay the dragon episode!

Swoon. I love Beowulf. Though to be honest I'm not sure I could actually watch a movie of it...
