What I did well:

Finished typing in Christmas card address labels.

Sorted out last year's Christmas cards (don't ask).

Cleaned up the tax paperwork on my office floor (again, don't ask. Anyway, it's clean now).

Talked to [livejournal.com profile] kijjohnson.

Made dinner and washed the dishes.

What I did not do well:

Well, it wasn't a very nutritious dinner at all.

I didn't e-mail several people.

Nor did I come up with a satisfactory reply to several LJ comments.

And the girls got to bed very late. *Sigh*

I have a toothache.

Lord, I am a bore.

Are permitted to be very, very boring. Get thee to a dentist. (Unless it's a metaphor.)

Give yourself a break. Not every meal needs to be nourishing. It's a balanced *diet* that counts, not balancing every single meal. Besides, my pediatrician just sighs and tells me to give 'em vitamins.

Everybody fed? Check. Household chores advanced upon? Check. Kids in bed? Check. That's one day's work.

You got stuff done - hey, that's not boring, that's awesome! As for dinner's nutritional content - no one will collapse from an occasional "imperfect" meal. They're not hungry anymore and - you didn't feed them chocolate cake with Cheetos, did you? Then it's probably fine. (And heck, even if it was chocolate cake with Cheetos, everyone would survive.)

Lord, I am a bore.

Seriously, no. You convey realities and mundanities of day-to-day life in a non-boring way as well as anyone I've ever read.

I don't need to ask about the Christmas cards, as I regularly have to do the same thing at this late date.
