I listened in on a conversation that [livejournal.com profile] lynnal was having at some convention or other about the usefulness of genetically engineered plants. The application that wowed me was having corn produce plastic.

I'm sure some anti-GMer will protest loudly. All ready kids are dying because of parents keeping vaccines from the kids for fears that look far fetched.
