The girls are bored and miserable. I offered to drive them to a movie theater, they turned me down, and then regretted their decision after the movie started. Then they begged for a different theater, but it is much farther away, more public and so I'm not so comfortable leaving them there, and more expensive. I told them no. Now they are mad at me.

I am hot enough to melt.

THIS PAPER SUCKS. A feasible method of organizing it is eluding me, and I feel as though I am simply driveling on about what is perfectly obvious to anyone.

If you want to ramble at anyone in the fandom, to see if having a sounding board helps you organize your thoughts, let me know and I can arrange to be on YM.

*offers iced sangria* (Will had this yesterday at the fair and it looked yummy, with bits of frozen wine-soaked fruit and everything)

When I get stuck in that situation, with an impending paper deadline and no actual paper, I back out of my commitment. I can fake an essay, but a paper is supposed to be real.

Re: so hot you could melt

When the air conditioner was kaput a couple three years ago and the temperature was its usual 90 plus here, I was able to keep cool at night by sleeping on my water bed without the heat turned on. For the day time, I used a 20 inch box fan set on a chair with a couple of frozen imitation ice package things like they use to keep insulin and such cool for shipping placed on a plate in front of the fan. The fan blew the cool, moist air over me and helped immensely. We also would open up the place every night when the outside temperature hit 80 and close it up in the morning when the outside temperature once again hit 80. By doing that and keeping the air inside moving with strategically placed fans, we kept the inside at least 5 degrees and sometimes 10 degrees cooler than the outside. I am very sensitive to heat. If it is above 80, I perspire and if I perspire long, I become allergic to my own sweat. Thus I work very hard to keep things cool and comfortable in my quarters.

I hope the paper goes well. Remember, not everyone is as astute as you are or as informed about Harry Potter. This is particularly true of persons over 30. There are just a few, very few I'm finding, of us "old farts" (I am 64.75 years old) who even know what a muggle is. I love Harry Potter and plan to read all of the books again during my knee rehab. I figure about the time I finish them I will be done wih the rehab. Peace and chocolate~~~Ellen

I feel as though I am simply driveling on about what is perfectly obvious to anyone.

I often feel the same way about what I have written, then (if I actually allow someone else to read it) I discover that it's better than I thought it was.

We all have a unique perspective on things, and having read your journal for some time, as well as your old posts, I expect that yours is well worth reading. Besides, I love your topic and believe Memory is a very significant theme that has not been given the attention it deserves.
