Very interesting. I'm in the midst of a Dickens-Austen parallel myself. I'm reading Little Dorrit, which reminds me in many respects of Mansfield Park, though my thoughts have not really gelled yet.
I enjoyed Bleak House immensely -- one of my favorite Dickens books, and I've tentatively selected S&S as my 2007 Austen reread. I'll have to ponder your thoughts some more.
