[livejournal.com profile] mahoney pointed me to this Salon article on why some of us can't read great authors, which I found quite interesting, but I can't comment wittily on it since I spent about ten hours at work today, including several hours typing The Big Brief and so all my brain synapses are crispy melba toast.

Just received two October Project CDs from Amazon. I learned about October Project from [livejournal.com profile] victoriabitter and am quite pleased with the purchase. (She set two of their songs, "After the Fall" and "Something More than This" to Lord of the Rings music videos).

Spent about half an hour working on the selkie story tonight. How to handle the transition?

Hmm. It's usually a mistake to stop writing right before a transition; better to blast through and get at least a paragraph or two past the transition, so that momentum will let you continue the next day. But as I said, I've worked too hard and long today and so am ignoring all my usual good advice to myself.

Toddling off to bed. Hope the brain fuzz will be less in evidence tomorrow.

(Damn, this is a good album).
