Had a lovely birthday yesterday

After the belt test, we came home and just read a bit and then, after dropping library books off at the library, we went out for dinner at a nice, cozy Mexican restaurant that's opened up recently. It was a good choice: I got to eat fish tacos, and the rest of the family all found something they liked, too. (My only regret was that they didn't have sangria on the menu; I was craving it after having such a delicious serving of it when I ate at Senor Moose in Seattle with kijjohnson). We came home for birthday cake which Delia had decorated:

and then we went to join a small gathering of friends to celebrate buttonlass's great news that the cheese shop she's managing was named Best Place to Buy Cheese by City Pages. Lots of delicious cheese and other treats, and wonderful conversations with good friends. And I got to hold buttonfish!

A very lovely birthday indeed.
