Painted another wall tonight. I am getting soooooo fed up with this job. Rob said he'd finish the lavender tomorrow.

Then we have to put down more painters' tape and start on the baseboards and windows. Those will take at least two coats.

The state of my house is driving me absolutely insane. I was really surly toward Rob tonight because I had to do two loads of dishes before I could even start cooking dinner. Correction: I was a total bitch about it. The girls are leaving water glasses scattered all over the house and their school books and papers dumped all over the dining room. My computer still isn't fixed and is still in Rob's TV room. My office has the girls' possessions everywhere.

I am not handling this well.

I keep hearing Lou and Peter Berryman's "Why Am I Painting the Living Room" running through my mind. (You can listen to a sample of it here. It's pretty funny.)

HUGS....cant the girls help? (or Rob - I know he is looking for work but still)
I HATE painting unless I have an ulterior motive.

I remember that song! I'll have to dig it out and listen to it.

Just to let you know, even though I haven't been at a computer much in the past few days, I've been following this via my cell phone and feeling your pain. You have the right to be a total bitch. If you don't do it, who will?

I think you should go have another round at Tillie's Bean. ;-) Meanwhile, have a peek at Gatsby!Snape and see if it makes you smile.

(Wouldn't it be cool if someone could do a Snape in 1920s garb a la Gatsby, and actually make it WORK???)

At least you didn't have to go on to their song "When did we have sauerkraut?"...

Out of the blue:

Wild Swans is an amazing book thus far, and I'm a mere 70 pages in. Good for you, Peg. Nicely done.

You are a better person than I am. I would have mixed up some of the paint in a slightly different color (but not so different that it couldn't easily be painted over) and painted in huge letters: "COME FINISH PAINTING THIS ROOM, YOU SLACKERS!"

I hope you continue to enjoy it, and if you have any comments after you've finished it, I'd love to hear 'em. You know writers: always greedy for feedback.
