Why not check the local libraries? Okay, the Minneapolis public libraries are closed this week due to budget cuts, but the Hennepin county libraries are open. That way, you won't have to spend money, and won't have to find someplace to put all the books. (If you are anything like me, that's always a problem.) If you find you really have to have them, you can alert friends and check yard sales. If I'm right, and this is the series by Bernard Cornwell, libraries are well-stocked with his books, and they turn up at garage sales when people move.

Rita Mae Brown has a book on how to write. The two main things I got out of it were: exercise every day, and you can read or you can write. It's hard to do both. Reading can eat up your writing time so fast.

This is from the person who has 1600 words due by the end of the week, and just finished the latest Charles deLint rather than write. (It is, not surprising, fabulous!)
