Check in, friends list? Are you doing okay? Who has been evacuated?

I called Rob to see if he's heard anything about his cousin, who lives in Del Mar, California.

The LA Times has a really good map of all the fire locations, with information on size, containment, etc. that they've been updating about twice a day:

I'm watching this site (http://sosdfireblog.blogspot.com/) to keep track of whether my folks are under evac orders.

I think parts of Del Mar are under mandatory evacuation. Look in the previous post list at that link.

Not close enough to any particular fire to be evacuated, but breathing ash for a few days.

My brother lives in L.A., so he's about 40 minutes from any of the actual fires. However yesterday we spoke by phone. He relayed that he and some friends went surfing and came out of the ocean covered in soot and icky blackness.
wow....

Oh also, most of the area is on a 'no fans; no vaccums' warning, as it further denegrates air quality. folks ACs are dying and many areas have triple-digit temps.
...sending all positive energies that way.
