Here is an icon with trees, and a thought from the flyer at my temple this weekend. It's our mini-mitzvah day, and we're focusing on the environment this year, so lots of readings and quotations were focused on green, growing things.

We learned that Rabbi Shimon bar Yochi said three things are of equal importance, earth, humans and rain.

Rabbi Levi ben Hiyyata said to teach that without earth, there is no rain, and without rain the earth cannot endure, and without either humans cannot exist.
