Replying to myself having read the list: poached eggs, especially when done in the 70's era electric cooker (easily available at a garage sale near you) have a really nice smooth as silk taste. Just skip the yolks, which are drier and crumblier if you cook them through, or slick and icky if you don't.
But the machine means that you don't have to mess with water, or fats or anything but the egg.
