He'll probably think it's cool. Several years ago I was doing research for a long-abandoned novel and I spent a delightful afternoon with a Sargeant of the Columbus Police Department. He seemed fascinated to be talking to me. He showed me cold case files (with real crime scene photos!) and answered all my questions. Practically talked my ear off.

The best part? His name was...wait for it...Sgt. Jim Longerbone.

Yep. Longerbone. The sort of name that you'd never get away with in fiction. I love it.
