Okay, so this cheered me up a little bit. A history of the St. Paul Winter Carnival has just been released. I've already reserved a copy, which I'll be picking up at the bookstore today.

Called the St. Paul Winter Carnival committee and got shunted into the Communications Director's voicemail. She hasn't called back. Hope the people I need to speak with aren't going to be, um, elusive.
