kijjohnson sent me a raven figurine for Christmas (last year, I think?) for the very same reason--to give me some good associations that go with them. She included a note outlining some of them: ravens bring news, ravens tease wolves (one of her totem animals). It perches there above my computer at my desk, with its head cocked looking down at me, bright-eyed, with Kij's note tucked into its beak. I think it has a rather benevolent look.
