my 4.5 year old woke up sick on Sun morn. No fever, just actually woke up throwing up. Though she had nothing in her tummy, she still puked.
and again an hour later.
and again an hour after that. (all just water)
BUT we had a BBQ party to go to that she was REALLY looking forward to. She was thrilled to go to a "grown up AND kid party" and was concerned after each vomit that she would not be able to go.
After a nap, and a bit of rice and water (which she threw up), she retreated to her room. She said she just wanted to rest a bit more.
About 20 minutes later, she came downstairs (how surprising! I thought she was sleeping!) in a polka-dot party dress. Her hair was a mess; her eyes a bit bloodshot. She simply said, "Mommy, I just need help finding my socks, and I am ready to go to the party."
I actually started crying. Bless her little heart. All she wanted to do was go to this party.
By the end of the day she was fine. But I will never, ever forget her optimism and hope.
So sorry to hear it. She has my deepest sympathy. There is nothing on the face of this planet as painful (well I'm sure there is but it's still pretty damn painful) as throwing up when you have strep, which I had every year and every year I got it more often and got sicker.
Knock on wood since tonsil extraction I've only had it once.
I hope the night is not too bad and tomorrow that she is clearly on the mend.
