I just checked the balance on my bank account. WTF? My natural gas bill has gone up $120 a month?!?

How the hell am I supposed to pull that out of my budget? On top of the new bill for braces?

Double check the meter reading! This happened to me once, and that month they happened to 'estimate' instead of taking an exact reading. I think I already had several panic attacks prior to calling the company and having them suggest this, I read it back to them on the phone and they re-figured it for me.

Otherwise, ugh, you have my utmost sympathy! I'm also sick to death of constant financial stress. If it's not one thing, it's another.

Mine was a shock this month, too. Not as bad as yours, but bigger than I was expecting. :( Between this and the much higher cost of my commute to work, my budget is tighter than it's ever been.

I started making a list of the ways I could cut costs or increase income so that I could put some money in the college fund. I found myself writing "Donate plasma" in all seriousness...although it was fairly far down the list.

Isn't this about the month where the budget-helper plans make up for the year?

Yes. I wasn't counting on having to catch up close to a $1,000.
