and a whole lot more, undoubtedly.
Others have indicated they may jump on the bandwagon, too.

Date: 2008-08-19 02:43 pm (UTC)I did the test the night that you first posted about this, but I really need to improve my trunk strength first -- I'm doing 6 weeks of daily core calisthenics, and will start the pushups protocol on October 1.
Rooting for all of you!

Date: 2008-08-19 04:17 pm (UTC)2, 2, 2, 2, (11). Hmm. When I did the initial test, I collapsed after three. But when I did the first day, two in a row felt really easy, and I was surprised I managed to do 11. The middle column looks too difficult to me, though. Maybe I'll split the difference.

Date: 2008-08-20 02:55 am (UTC)I can't figure out how to read the week1 list. I don't know how many to do actually.

Date: 2008-08-20 03:07 am (UTC)On the first day, you do 12, rest 60 seconds, 12, rest 60 seconds, 10, rest 60 seconds, 10, rest 60 seconds, then you do as many as you can do (at least 7).
Rest a day.
Then you go to the chart for Day Two and follow the third column again, this time resting 90 seconds between reps: 12, 12, 10, 10, then as many as you can do (at least 10)
Rest a day
Then you go to the chart for Day Three and again follow the third column, etc.
Hope this helps.

Date: 2008-08-23 03:17 am (UTC)thanks for posting about this -- it's a great idea, and clearly something I should try since my initial test was 0 for good-form, knee, and bench methods (and I have no outstanding physical reason preventing me other than 42 years of not doing push ups). I was able to do a few when I tried bench@knee before my pecs packed it in. I'm thinking I may stay stick with week 1 until I can graduate to the good form.
