No, as I understand it, it is a plot variation they decided to throw into the sixth movie to heighten the tension of the mounting war: an attack on the Burrow.
Huh - never heard that rumor. I understand having to condense bits of book to create the movie, so I forgive those changes, but actually creating total fiction from the standard plot? Ugh. And totally not necessary - there's plenty of tension in the series as it is!
