I had the same thought. Isn't life hard enough as it is? I look at myself struggling to find someone to spend my life with, and here there are people who HAVE found that person, have been with them for decades in some cases, and yet there are so many who say that commitment isn't real and they shouldn't have the legal benefits that go with it.
