Dare I ask what the Hot Gingered Pygmy Mammoth is about?

Do you remember me mentioning Mike Ford, when he died? He was a brilliant, absolutely brilliant SF/Fantasy writer (went by the name of John M. Ford) who lived here in Minneapolis. He won the World Fantasy Award, the Rhysling Award (for poetry), the Philip K. Dick Award, among others. He was in my Shakespeare reading group. He was one of the funniest and smartest men I've ever met in my entire life. I miss him; we all do. Here are my tagged entries about him. Here is one of his most famous poems, about September 11, 110 Stories. His last poem at Making Light, a villanelle about Edward IV ("I am the King and I want a sandwich"). Here is his sonnet "Against Entropy." Here's the story of that sonnet's composition.

Anyway, he posted a lot on Making Light: pithy comments, sonnets, hilarious bits about all sorts of things. Here is his recipe for Hot Gingered Pygmy Mammoth and Jumbo Shrimp Salad.

*laughs* That's fantastic. Reminds me of Shel Silverstein's Recipe for a Hippopotamus Sandwich, only better. :D

I don't normally read Twitter post, but...

...I did this time.

I'd have a mechanic check the thermostat, as that strikes me as the thing that is both most likely to go bad and (reasonably) cheap to repair...
