We had a pleasant holiday weekend. Ate turkey at my brother-in-law's house. There was family in town (Rob's stepmother came out from Phoenix, and his brother drove up with his girls from Eau Claire, Wisconsin). We did a few things with the family over the course of the weekend--saw "Australia," baked Christmas cookies. I got my office cleaned up a bit so Delia and I can exercise in there again; that felt good. Made a turkey myself Saturday so we could have leftovers. Did some other house clean up, had fun on
hpalternity (really, why aren't you reading it?), read Twilight, and hung out with my family.
Hope you had a good holiday, too.

Date: 2008-12-02 06:31 pm (UTC)I kinda think my first book was better. Still, I was willing to be amused, and there were parts of it that were fun.

Date: 2008-12-02 10:07 pm (UTC)I read it for two reasons: 1. I was curious to see if the popularity was warranted 2. Someone gave me a copy (and therefore I didn't have to buy one/get it from the library.
I could see all the things people have complained about (Mary Sue characters, etc) but it was still entertaining enough that I finished it. I'm glad I read it because it highlighted some things for me that I don't want to do in my own writing. If someone gives me the next one, I'll probably read that too--but I won't buy it.
And I probably won't see the movie even though I liked the actor when he played Cedric!
