Holiday cards

Wow, I've really noticed a drop off. I guess I must not be the only person avoiding the holiday letter this year. Yes, it's still a week before Christmas. But last year I sent out 129 cards (that list will be cut this year), and I've only received fourteen this year.

Have you noticed that you're getting fewer this year, too?

Totally. Last year I received a ton. This year, I've received five. I'm not sending as many out either. Just to family, really.

Yes. I had a moment of, "Why do I bother to do all these when I'm not getting many back myself?" Then I remembered that it's to make my friends and family smile and know I was thinking of them. (Also I remembered that not everybody wants to have theirs done by the 14th at the latest.)

Er, no. I sent (or am going to send when I address the last 35) about 140, and I bet we've gotten 60. We got 10 today.

we usually send out about 150, and didn't cut this year except for international folks (mostly because last year, they got our xmas cards the following april).

Yes. I am still sending them out to the people we get them from but our holiday letter is, well, not a letter, only a note in the card.

We've had < 20 so far, and yes, usually it's more (currently only halfway across our front window - I punch holes in the corner and hang them on ornament hooks), but it seems to me in recent years we've had more last-minute cards so ... we'll see.

HUGE drop off. This year we have four total, one coming from a complete stranger and actually to my son not the family. I cut back on the list as well -- more of a cycle of life thing than anything else.

Totally. We've gotten maybe four so far this year. We just put our stack - including pictorial letter - in the mail yesterday, though. (We sent 60+, have about 10 more to finish up.) Maybe everyone's just running late. :)

I've received none. And we sent out none. We've cut back on many costs this year.

We got a lot fewer this year. We usually get at least 30.
We sent out around 45 this year, we've gotten around 10. Several of those were sent after the recipient got our card.
