I had my camera in my bag today, because I had to go after work to take belt test pictures at one of the dojos. So I decided to do another random Day in the Life photo shoot. This definitely isn't one of my best. I took the camera out for my midmorning walk but got too distracted talking on my cell phone to [livejournal.com profile] kijjohnson to take any pictures.

Anyway, here they are.

8:45 a.m.: My desk at work:

9:00 a.m.: My water glass at work:

(Explanation: this was made by the artist Peter Zelle, who's been doing art glass in a studio in Minnesota for over twenty years. He's related to one of the attorneys in our office, and so our office manager gave each of the secretaries one of his glass tumblers for our Christmas gift this year. I took the picture of the glass on the ledge of my desk, silhouetted against a door. You may remember the pictures I took in a previous Day in the Life photo shoot of the glass sculpture installations of Peter Zelle's work in our office lobby. See here and here.

10:45 a.m.: The Christmas tree in the lobby of my office building:

4:30 p.m.: Leaving work:

5:30 p.m.: Grocery carts at Lund's:

9:45 p.m.: Soul collage supplies spread across my office floor. Frankly, not much interesting about this; I just took this to round up the set to six pictures.

So, not my best day collection ever, but it was interesting to carry the camera for the day. I think I will try to do this once every few weeks or so. It's interesting to try to look at my life with a photographer's eye.

I've been missing that "day in the life" meme - it was so much fun to see and do. Thanks for sharing your day. Are those the girls' birth photos on your desk?

Yes, that's them! Fiona's on the left, and Delia's on the right.

Yes, I thought I told you that I had. I'm sorry, I thought I had! I put it under the tree and was figuring I'd open it for Christmas (unless, ack, is it perishable?) Thank you! Although I don't know what's in it yet . . .

Nope, not perishable - you're safe. :) (I promise, if I ever send anything perishable, I write it on the box in Sharpie.) I just wanted to be sure I didn't have to go glare at our postal workers. And if I missed your prior note, my apologies - not trying to add to your stress!
