Previously on Alternity: Year One, Trimester One

Our awesome alt_moderator has done a summary of the game so far, September 1 to January 1 in one synopsis post, with links. ("Trimester" here just refers to the period of time which is being summarized. These periodic trimesters updates will cover the periods September 1 to December 31, January 1 to April 30, and May 1 to August 31.)

Of course, you'll get more out of it if you read the actual posts (ETA as well as if you've read the Harry Potter books in the first place!), but this would be an excellent introduction for people who'd like to get into the game but aren't sure of where to start. Yay!

(So . . . have we gotten you hooked yet??? For those who have heard me talk about it but have never checked it out before, take a look at this post? Please? Yes, I'm begging. I have no pride.)

I looked. It sounds intriguing for someone that's read the books, but I haven't got around to them yet. So I guess I'm not the right audience, because I got lost in the numerous names of people and places. I gave up at about, "Lupin seems to be isolated from the Order...."

H'm, it honestly hadn't even occurred to me that people who hadn't read Harry Potter might be interested.

That said, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to enjoy it, if I were to write an introduction to the world that helped people who had never read the Harry Potter books get into it. Part of the fun of it is, of course, that it's a radically twisted version of the Harry Potter story, but that doesn't mean that there isn't another aspect to it...

OK, you've set me a challenge. (Don't worry: I won't check up to see if you go back and enjoy it if and when I do write an intro for folks who have never read Harry Potter!)
