I finally sat down and added up all the miles I have been faithfully recording in my journal on the Walk to Rivendell and discovered I actually reached Rivendell on October 13. Woot!

I am actually 125 miles past Rivendell now, in the country where the company has "hard and dreary walking" with much icy wind, sleeping days and walking nights.

I have also worked out six of the past seven days. I rule. Go me.

Firstly, Congratulations! That's really awesome, Peg.

Secondly, thanks for posting this link. I've just purchased a new book with a 52 week walking plan in it. I'll be walking regularly for hte rest of the month, but starting the plan on January 1 -- and charting my progress via the Challenge. This should be a lot of fun!

This is a totally amazing site! And yay you for being so far along the road!

I am going to have to think about starting it. Walking is not the best choice for me, at this point in time. Although the other day I figured out that 14 trips out to my storage sheds with boxes of Books and Stuff equals about a mile, and I am very committed to doing that for the next however long, so that would be something to measure....

My imaginary health trip right now is tied in with my doing the South Beach diet (very healthy, I highly recommend it). Next summer my son and I are going to drive to Chicago, then tour old Route 66 with our little vintage camper trailer. So I am preplanning the trip, with each pound lost equalling x number of miles to research. So far we are mapped from Lamar, Colorado to Herington, Kansas, which is a little more than 1/10 of the total.
