Fox News blow hard Glenn Beck likens the youth climate movement of today to the Hitler Youth of, well, Nazi Germany. And who is responsible for this brainwashing and indoctrination? Al Gore, of course. Watch it here:
To say that his kids might know some things ("some" being a word that evidently means "everything" to this moron) is probably putting it lightly. In fact, perhaps he's so offended by the idea that kids know some things that adults don't because he knows absolutely nothing at all and is afraid that someone might notice soon. ;)
Conservatives are so two-faced. Have they forgotten the Young Republicans who supported Reagan so mindlessly? They are the only ones permitted to appeal to youth, obviously, and then it's okay; anyone else doing it is EVOL.
He's so full of shit his eyes should be brown, if they aren't already (I can't tell).
I think Al Gore's point about the youth of America being smarter than the adults is borne out in Glenn Beck's case!
I mean, really?!? I thought of the Civil Rights movement after Gore's first quote (glad to see it was used later as an example). Does Beck think that the changes that came about because of the Civil Rights movement were just a result of nazi-like brainwashing?!?!?
As usual, Fox "News" isn't even asking the right question. Then gets its facts wrong, and embarrassed itself.
First of all, no one on the right seems to know what "socialism" is. Certainly, "socialism" is the opposite of "National Socialism". God, these people are morons.
Second Gore is correct. The whole point of having kids is to give them a life better than you had. Beck is saying that families have failed. Well, maybe sphincter conservatives are bad parents, but most are trying to do well by their kids.
Third, the real question is, what do the kids know instinctively now that we didn't? Gore is saying, correctly, that the liberal 60s changed the world for the better. Beck just doesn't get it. The radical right just doesn't get it.
A conservative is someone who doesn't quite realize that they've lost. (In this case, the right hasn't realized that they lost The Civil War.) A liberal is someone who doesn't quite realize that they've won. (Demonstrating that Gore isn't a liberal, since he gets it. Too many on the left think that electing Obama has suddenly solved all racial problems, including black racism.)
He isn't proving his point at all. I know I'm on the opposite side of his argument, but his supporting evidence is ridiculously weak. Not to mention the absurdity of this comparison... *facepalm*
I thought it was a generally accepted rule in life that whoever brings Hitler into the argument first loses just on general principle... Fox News must have missed that one when they skimmed their handbook.
