Unfortunately, I don't think this is ironic. A suicide within one's family is just a bit too likely to trigger another suicide in yourself or a family member, and one of the things we depressives need to remember is that, if the pain gets to be unbearable, or we think it's unbearable, our taking ourselves permanently out of circulation is all too likely to result in another member of the family doing likewise. I think it is a miracle that the offspring in question made it to 47 at all, with his environment being so toxic.

Tragedy upon tragedy...what a sad legacy they all lived & died with. :-( It's almost not surprising; it seems like he was surrounded by death and despair since his birth. How awful.

Doctors ask if you have a history of cancer or heart disease in your family. They should ask about depression too. This is very sad.
