[edited to add that I commented this because LJ wouldn't let me transcribe the post, and the auto-transcribe has lots of errors.]

Hi, this is Peg. I'm standing in the parking lot of Burker King just outside of San Antonio, Texas. We've had a long trip here; it was actually turning out to be rather longer than was originally planned. Originally, we were gonna go down 35W South through Kansas, but given the reports of the storm, the winter storms in Kansas, we decided to reroute, and we swung 300 miles to the east, which meant that the first night, instead of stopping at a church, we ended up driving through the night, so we were on the bus, aside from meal stops, for about thirty hours, which was pretty grueling, but we stopped finally last night at a church in Waco, Texas, slept there, and now we're hitting our last stop before we stop at the mission station in, I think, Laredo, which is right outside the border. When we're there, we'll stop and pick up the huge shipment of food which we've ordered from Sam's Club, and drop off our valuables at the mission station and then cross the border, getting to the orphanage tonight. We're doin' okay for the most part, except for Fiona. Fiona was ill last night. We stopped at dinner at the Cracker Barrel restaurant and I don't think that whatever she ate agreed with her, and so she was pretty sick to her stomach last night, and she's looking pretty green around the gills today, but at least she hasn't upchucked any more. She and I are riding in the van now -- we have two vans accompanying the bus -- because it's a smoother ride and she can lie down and sleep. ____'s doing pretty well, and we're excited to get underway. Should arrive, as I said, at the orphanage tonight. This'll be the last time I'll make a report before handing off our valuables, including my cellphone, at the mission. So this'll be it, and I'll talk to you on our way back. Ta-ta for now, Peg.

Sometimes you can revise these voice posts but perhaps Peg hasn't got her account set for that. I listened to it a few times and this is what I heard:

I got most of that but the person-transcriptions helped. I'm sorry for the trying journey; I can't imagine driving so far in the first place, and dealing with storms, flat tires, and sick children on the way doesn't help. I hope it's like our first journey to China: getting there was awful but once we arrived, it all went smoothly. *fingers crossed* You're all in my thoughts.

I know! I wish I'd had your number with me! But it was really a flying visit, and we were only there an hour and a half.
