I've had crushing news

about a dear friend. And also had great elation watching Paula Deen answering questions at a lecture session sponsored by a local bookstore at Unity on the Plaza.

I'm just numb about the friend right now. She's not going to make it, it's a generalized spread of disease throughout her body. I hope I can acquit myself well in helping her and her husband (who I've known for elephant's years).

knowing in advance does not help. It just raises the ugly head of dread. Sigh.
