Oh, flashbacks! My AP History teacher in high school swore that we were going to get an essay on the Progressives; he said he'd been tracking the essay questions for years and he was never wrong. We dutifully studied away on the Progressives and all walked in feeling very confident.

Which would be why the essay question was on the Populists.

To this day the memory of the look on his face when we all groaned when we turned the page makes me smile.
