How do you decide who to loan to? What's your decision-making process? I've been thinking about doing this for a while now thanks to your posting about Kiva a year? or so ago. This reminds me of my interest. I'm F. Lewis from Grand Rapids on Facebook, Catalogermom on Dreamwidth.
My decision making has been rather impulsive; I've just made three loans so far, although I hope to do more when Rob has a job. I have made the decision to loan exclusively to women, however. I recall reading some research (and I'm hazy on the details) which suggested that microloans to woman has a better return on improving children's lives than microloans to men. This time I chose to loan to a lending group, again, because I hope that a multiplier effect would increase the good I could do.
