Renewing the Eowyn Challenge

Aragorn - What do you fear, my lady?" Eowyn - "A cage. To stay behind bars until use and old age accept them and all chance of valor has gone beyond recall or desire." The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
I have decided to renew my commitment to the Eowyn Challenge. I finished the Walk to Rivendell last year (458 miles)-- in fact, I recorded 600 miles last year. Now I am going to take the Long Challenge, and see how many miles I can rack up between last December 25 and next October 20. I'll start with the goal of getting from Rivendell to Lothlorien (477 miles), but hope to extend that on to Rauros (another 389 miles) and maybe, if I really hoof it, to Mount Doom itself (another 470 miles, for a total of 1336 miles).

In other news, I have worked out for 16 of the last 20 days.
Let me know if you'll be doing the challenge, too.

Date: 2004-01-20 05:20 pm (UTC)I'll be going for Lothlorien this year, but my personal goal is to walk *at least* 2.6km per day, and log it. That's not very much, but the problem for me is getting started and keeping it regular, not just doing nothing for days then a whole lot to catch up.
