pegkerrthe most devastating movie I think I've ever seen in my entire life: The Road, starring Viggo Mortensen.
It may (okay, probably will) give me nightmares, and that's despite the fact that I had my fingers in front of my eyes during the most gruesome scene. Yet I don't regret seeing it. In fact, I'm glad I did.
Highly--I don't know what the right word is. I was going to say 'recommended,' but I would entirely respect those who don't want to subject themselves to such a grueling experience. Impactful (if that's a word). Profound. Searing. I think I needed to see it because I've been thinking so much about despair lately, about the difference between sticking with trudging through as the awful becomes more awful than you can possibly imagine, or giving up and throwing in the towel.
