A different sort of Black Friday
Nov. 26th, 2010 12:09 pmThis is the first Black Friday in perhaps a decade that I haven't been out at the stores the first thing in the morning. Well, not 3:00 a.m., the way some stores open, but often at 5:00 a.m. I am not quite the Black Friday campaigner that some people are, but I do appreciate the savings, particularly given our present circumstances.
But I was dreadfully ill at Thanksgiving dinner last night at my sister's. I truly appreciated the company and was vexed I felt so badly, but there was no doubt that the coughing was absolutely out of control, and we left early because I was so miserable. And so I regretfully decided I should stay indoors today, breathing steam from the humidifier in my bedroom, and I sent Rob out in my stead.
