Love Drop: Artist Auction

The Decrease Worldsuck website/good works project that I've mentioned before, Love Drop, had a great month last month when they came together to help a single mother who is fighting a brain tumor (see the report here). This month, Love Drop is highlighting a the Kahlen family, who has been hit hard by the economy and by their daughter’s serious medical condition, tuberous sclerosis. In addition to financial assistance, they have a special request this month for artists:

Since Kent is an artist (a glassblower, and his work is lovely), we want to rally the artistic community to join in the effort.

We're going to be auctioning off some artwork on Love Drop this month, with proceeds going into the pool to help out the Kahlen's.

We're looking for people to donate any kind of artwork/paintings/drawings/sculptures/jewelry/crafts/accessories to us this month, and we'll auction them off directly from the Love Drop site (or eBay/Etsy if it makes more sense).

It's a new way to provide support, AND you'll get to see some of your work showcased to our extended network.

Here's how to do it:

1) Tell any artist (or better yet, artist network) who would be interested in submitting work for this month's project.

2) Submit any of your own work to us

3) Spread the word to anyone who may want to purchase a piece

Here's how to submit a piece to us:

1) Take a good picture of it
2) Write a 1-2 line description
3) Tell us the suggested sale price
4) Email this info to "team@lovedrop.us"
5) Link to our auction page from your website/shop/etc to promote the donation
