I don't trust Ebert because every movie gets two thumbs up. It's ridiculous. On the other hand, my favorite reviews/blurb are the midlength ones. I don't like things like "Excellent! A New Classic!" etc, because there is no reasoning. I like one or two specific positive things about the book in question, and that makes me want to read it.
