1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 23.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.

Well, this was sort of tough, because my copies of

1. Le Morte D'Arthur by Thomas Malory,
2. The Lay of Bereliand by J.R.R. Tolkien, and
3. The Grand Tour or The Purloined Coronation Regalia, Being a Revelation of Matters of High Confidentiality and Greatest Importance, Including Extracts from the Intimate Diary of a Noblewoman and the Sworn Testimony of a Lady of Quality by Patricia Wrede and Caroline Stevermer ([livejournal.com profile] 1crowdedhour)

were all sort of equidistant. I picked The Grand Tour:

"My own experience of Thomas might be limited, but Kate had written me quite detailed reports of her acquaintance with him, and I think I can safely say that 'exaggerating' is not a word that either of us would ever use in connection with him."

Oh, covet...

I just checked Amazon and they list it as not due for release until September. Oh unhappy summer of suspense...

...Aubrey Malory?

Is this a fiction version I don't know about? Poor Thomas...

Nope, not Aubrey. It was late, I was tired, I glanced at the spine and grabbed the first name of the illustrator without thinking about it. Have fixed.

This may be the first time I'd seen the full title of _The Grand Tour_ and I love it. Oooh, tantalizing!

You're evil for teasing us like that, but choosing a sentence out of the book that we can't read for months is a little bit better than telling us it's there and choosing a different book. ::smiles::
