Lord of the Rings Risk is very bewildering when you're just starting to learn how to play. I played generic Risk, but that was years ago, and my memory of the rules are very hazy.
I am pleased to report that I recently conquered all of Middle-earth during a marathon LOTR Risk game. It took me many months to get my game up to par, however.
Yes! It is! We got this for the DH for Christmas and I thought it would be sooooo cool, but when we tried it was so confusing. My memories of regular risk are sketchy, so it wasn't too helpful, then the 5yo kept running off with the ring. Not sure where it is now. One day we'll get back to it.
