I don't think I've seen a single mention that anyone's reading The Casual Vacancy. Which seems odd to me.

I have it, but I haven't started it. Which also seems odd. To be fair, I've heard it's damned depressing, and having achieved some hard-won equilibrium, I'm wary of reading something calculated to tip me over into moroseness. And I guess I'm delaying a sense of personal disappointment, if I start it and discover that I hate it.

Has anyone read it? Not that I'm asking for your review, just curious.

i know my mom was one of the first to get it from the library here, but she had it as a one week express, so no chance for me to piggy-back. I forgot to ask what she thought.
