Report from the Oncologist
Jul. 28th, 2013 09:35 pmThe news at our appointment last Friday was really about the best we could have hoped for, considering what we already knew.
Rob has tumors in the lymph nodes in his abdomen, yes, but they have not spread to the other organs in the area, nor into his chest. The bone marrow biopsy was negative. His cancer stage is '2B.' We do need to start chemo, however, because one of the tumors is pressing against the inferior vena cava, which could cut off the circulation to his lower body if it grows much bigger. The plan is to begin on August 15.
I have set up a CaringBridge site for Rob, which may be found here. Further details may be found there. You will need to create a CaringBridge login (but that's simply a matter of providing an email and password).
