Once we received the cancer diagnosis, I immediately decided that we had to have pictures taken. I wanted to have a family portrait done for the Christmas card, but Fiona would be overseas, and Rob will be losing all his hair. We decided to get all our family portraits done in one fell swoop: birthday portraits for the girls, and an anniversary portrait for Rob and me, too.

This is the picture we'll use for our Christmas card this year:

And this last picture is something we've never done before. I think of it as 'the cancer picture,' with Rob taken by surprise, and the three of us kissing him. (On that soon-to-be-lost hair, note). Giving him our love and support.

On the one hand, when I look at this picture I think, how corny, really. How cheesy.
On the other hand, I really, really like it.
