I haven't been posting much lately
May. 31st, 2004 10:38 pmbecause I am still cleaning. I spent the last two days in my office, playing Return of the King on my laptop as I filed old paperwork and worked on Quicken. Gah, I've let it all go for too long.
I still always cry at the charge of the Eorlingas, and this time through I cried at three or four other points: Arwen seeing her son, the death of Theoden, Frodo and Sam on the slopes of Mount Doom, and the Grey Havens.
We have our tickets to see the next Harry Potter movie for Friday night.

Date: 2004-06-01 05:00 am (UTC)I remember crying at that scene when I first read the book (I was 13, and it was a life-changing event). I cried again when I heard Tolkien reading that passage (I have it on a cassette tape somewhere), and I cried, tears running freely down my face, in the theater. "Ride, ride, ride to Gondor!"
::sniff:: I think I have something in my eye.
