I went out tonight and had a great time. It's amazing what a new hair cut can do for one's mood, especially when everyone (well, except for one's immediate family that is) over the past few days has been saying "You look mahvelous." (Patience everyone; I have sent the pictures to
daedala and asked her to upload and so hope I will have a link to post soon). I was also wearing my ribbon coat today, and several complete strangers stopped me to tell me how beautiful it was. ( Thus, I was in a perfect mood to go see Christine Lavin and the Four Bitchin' Babes. )

A.S. Byatt
Apr. 17th, 2004 01:40 amAw, dammit. A.S. Byatt is going to be at the Ted Mann Concert Hall, giving a free lecture on writing historical fiction. When Swans was a finalist for the Mythopoeic, it was up against her Elementals. [Peter Beagle beat us both out in the end and so was the one who got to take home the Aslan statue].
And I can't go because Rob has inventory at the store tomorrow night.
Damn, damn, damn. Have I actually gone for a week or two without mentioning how much I hate Rob's employer?
*goes to look up babysitters in palm pilot*

New haircut! Look at the pictures here (with a partial view of the ribbon coat),
and with necklace: here (this one's incomplete; I'll get a less cropped version up early next week) and here (lots of sparkly reflections on the lens from the necklace!)
These are slow to load, sorry. Thanks to Keith Bagge for taking the pictures, and to
daedala for uploading them for me!
Since it's Saturday, I'm experimenting with spiking it up a bit today.

They're trying, really they are
Apr. 17th, 2004 11:26 pmTonight, after Fiona watched me get ready to go to the A.S. Byatt lecture (Rob's manager let him come home long enough for me to attend, yay), she said primly, "You look very interesting, Mommy."
And Rob told me tonight, "I guess that haircut looks okay."
Edited to add Rob said (indignantly):" I'm being slandered. I know I used the word 'attractive.' I think you look beautiful."
Well, okay.
