pegkerr: (Every feeling revolts)
I was forced to work a sixteen hour day yesterday; was at the office until 1:00 a.m. Severely jagged on caffeine today.

Also still smarting over something that happened yesterday that I don't wanna talk about.

V. bad attitude day.
pegkerr: (Both the sweet and the bitter)
I made fresh papaya/mango ice cream with the new ice cream maker. (Ok, it wasn't really a cheat because I hardly had to add any sugar at all; the fruit was so sweet).

Both girls tried only one mouthful and refused the rest.

Rob ate a small bowlful and said it was "edible" but it wouldn't have been his first choice.

I swear, there are times I really do believe that my family does not deserve me.

Tomorrow's July 1. Chocolate tomorrow. You better believe it.

Edited to correct: That was papaya/mango, not pomegranate/mango. Yeesh.
pegkerr: (Loving books)
Posession by A.S. Byatt

The Jane Austen Book Club by Karen Joy Fowler. Enjoyable, but I would have loved to have seen her work in references to Lady Susan, too (or perhaps they were there by I missed them??)

The Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson. Read this one to the girls.

The Hallowed Hunt by Lois McMaster Bujold. Heh heh heh heh heh.

The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde.

Am working on Splintered Light: Logos and Language in Tolkien's World by Verlyn Flieger, which I am enjoying even more than I thought I would.

Hmm. No re-reads at all this month. Good show, Peg. But not very many books. You're slacking, girl.
