Truck

I dreamed that for some reason somebody (I think it was Greg Ketter of DreamHaven) had a truck to sell, and I was being urged to buy it, along with Carolyn Ives Gilman (author of Halfway Human). It was an enormous truck that cost $100,000. I was torn: I know that people can fail to get ahead because they refuse to take financial risks. But I knew nothing about trucks and had never wanted to own one. Could I make money off of it? What questions should I ask to make sure it was a good deal? How would Carolyn and I go into business for ourselves as a trucking company?

I can't tell you how relieved I was to wake up this morning and discover I don't own a truck.

Tonight, I got home and wrapped baby gifts for new niece, checked flats in the basement to see if they needed misting, did 1/2 hour lower body weight-lifting, made dinner, read to the girls from The Grand Tour, filed financial paperwork, caught up on my exercise log, sent out e-mail re: Minicon programming.

Argh. It's 9:45 p.m. and I'm beat. No writing tonight.
